# Quick Start

> Get your first camera live and your first alert set up in minutes.

This guide walks you through the four things you need to get ARGUS watching your
store. Most stores finish in under 10 minutes.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in to your dashboard">
    Go to [dashboard.useargus.co](https://dashboard.useargus.co) and sign in
    with the account you were given. Your dashboard is where you'll manage
    cameras, review incidents, and choose who gets alerted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your first camera">
    Connect a camera so ARGUS has something to watch. A small ARGUS app runs on
    an always-on computer in your store that can see your cameras on the local
    network, and streams them to ARGUS for analysis.

    See [Add a camera](/cameras/add-a-camera) for the full walkthrough.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set up who gets alerted">
    Decide where alerts should go and add your recipients. ARGUS sends alerts by
    **SMS** and **email** — text the on-shift manager, send to a shared inbox, or
    both. You can add more recipients at any time in **Settings**.

    See [Alerts & notifications](/incidents/alerts-notifications) to set this up.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review your first incident">
    When ARGUS detects something, it creates an incident and alerts your
    recipients. Open it from the **Incidents** tab to see what happened, then
    confirm it or mark it a false positive.

    See [The incident workflow](/incidents/incident-workflow) for how to review
    and act on incidents.
  </Step>
</Steps>

That's it — ARGUS is now watching your store and will keep you posted as
incidents happen. To understand what's going on behind the scenes, read
[How ARGUS works](/get-started/how-argus-works).
